| Interior
door panels traditionally were manufactured in two distinct
styles: |
| Board
Style
panels are by far the most prevalent for the restoration market.
These panels start with a die-stamped panel-board, to which
the interior vinyl is adhered, with the proper design in mind.
Armrest pads/bases are separate, and are usually bolted onto
the panel. |
| Molded
Panels are also available for some applications. These
panels are either molded and skinned with vinyl (example:
67-69 Camaro and Firebird Deluxe interiors), or injection
molded as a finished product without an outer skin. (example:
70-74 Cuda and Challenger). Molded panels will usually have
the armrest base, and sometimes armrest pad, molded into the
panel, depending on application. |
